F. William 'Billy' Cornelius, 67
CENTREVILLE, Md. - F. William "Billy" Cornelius of Centreville died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. He was 67.
Mr. Cornelius was born Feb. 21, 1940, son of the late Frederick William Wood Cornelius and Pearl Virginia (Gosman) Cornelius.
He was raised in Still Pond and was a 1958 graduate of Chestertown High School.
Mr. Cornelius began his career with his father's logging business and started trucking grain and steel, which grew into cross country hauling.
For the past seven years he worked for Queen Anne's County Parks and Recreation in their maintenance department.
He had lived in Kent County before moving to Queen Anne's eight years ago.
Mr. Cornelius enjoyed oil painting and shuffleboard.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dawn Ruth Cornelius; two daughters, Kathy C. Elliott and her husband Rick of Fairlee and Tyra C. Darling and her husband Alton Jr. of Barclay; a brother, Dale Cornelius and his wife Debi, and their children, Lindsey and Zach, all of Still Pond; a sister, Debbe Blanchfield, and her children, Lauren, Kara and Jordan of Chestertown; six grandchildren, Drew Metcalf, Allyson, Trevor and Abigail Darling, and Clay and Jason Elliott; and a great-grandson, Holden Elliott.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Still Pond Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to the Centreville Senior Center, 104 Powell St., Centreville, MD 21617.
