Evelyn M. Metzler, 89

LEWES - Evelyn M. Metzler of Lewes, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Harbor Healthcare Center, Lewes. She was 89.

She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Ralph and Ida Mae (Smith) Nungesser.

Mrs. Metzler enjoyed playing bingo, and loved to drive down to the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Metzler, in 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Bateman of Boothwyn, Pa., and Lynn Clifton of Lewes; a brother, George Nungesser of Aldon, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Arrangements by Melson Funeral Services of Long Neck.
