Evelyn (Dorman) Brumbaugh
PHILIPSBURG, Pa. - Evelyn (Dorman) Brumbaugh of Philipsburg, formerly of Lewes, Del., and Milford, Del., died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in the Mt. Nittany Hospital, State College.
Evelyn was born in Lewes on July 10, 1930, daughter of the late Albert E. Dorman (1993) and Mae Ritter Dorman, one of seven children.
Evelyn graduated from Lewes High School, class of 1949, and the Beebe Hospital School of Nursing in 1952.
She was a registered nurse at Beebe Hospital, Lewes, Milford Memorial Hospital, Dr. Graybeal"s office and retired from the State of Delaware Department of Health.
After retirement, she moved to Philipsburg, the hometown of her husband.
Evelyn could always been seen at social and family gatherings with her camera.
She was a past matron of Kent Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, Milford, and a member of St. Paul"s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg, where she sang in the choir.
Evelyn will always be remembered for her beautiful needlepoint kneelers and the various banners she made to adorn her beloved churches.
She was a former member of Christ"s Church, Milford.
She was predeceased by her brother, Ernest, in January 2007.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Frank J. Brumbaugh; her sons, Frank D. and Boyd of Philipsburg; and her mother and the following siblings, Betty Thomas, Joan Moore, Sarah Rickards, Susan Stone and Al Dorman.
A visitation will be at David Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 S. Centre St., Philipsburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul"s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg.
