DOVER - Evalyn G. Stubbs, formerly of Henderson, Md., passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Bayhealth Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 3, 1915 in Kent County, Del. to the late Anna Lydia Price and Edward L. Gooden. Mrs. Stubbs was a 1932 graduate of Greensboro High School. She was owner and operator of Stubbs General Store, which she and her late husband James N. Stubbs had operated for many years. She was a member of Henderson United Methodist Church and the Dover Modern Maturity Center. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her infant son, James N. Stubbs, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Robert E. Stubbs of Hartly, Phyllis Tarbutton and Darlene Zlock both of Dover, and E. Lydia Tucker of Hartly; sister, Nedra Medford of Camden Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Evalyn's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2012 in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, where family and friends may call from 10:30 till 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Greensboro Cemetery.
