Erlinda Mendoza

Erlinda Mendoza, 69

DOVER - Erlinda Mendoza of Dover died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at home. She was 69.

Mrs. Mendoza was born March 27, 1938, in the Philippines, to the late Yao-Ekun and Felicidad Alegarbes Yao.

She emigrated from the Philippines to Guam in January 1994, where she resided with her late husband.

Upon his passing, she moved from Guam to Washington state in March 2001 to be closer to her daughter's American family.

The family moved from Washington to Dover in September 2004.

Mrs. Mendoza was a homemaker and loved cooking for all her family and friends.

She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing and karaoke.

She was a member of the Filipino-American Christian Fellowship, Dover.

Mrs. Mendoza was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dominador Mendoza; and a brother, Eduardo Alegarbes.

She is survived by her son, Dominic A. Mendoza of Manila, Philippines; four daughters, Belinda M. Acocella and her husband Ray of Dover, Melinda M. Cu and her husband James of Manila, Dolores M. Alcala and her husband Wilfredo of Manila, and Novelita and Domilyn Mendoza of Dover; her sister, Estrellita A. Tolentino of Mandaluyong, Philippines; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Magnolia United Methodist Church, 39 N. Main St., Magnolia.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.
