She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she had over 50 years of perfect attendance, was a member of the United Methodist Women and was secretary for many years of the Late Disciple Class. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing her pole beans, flowers and working in the yard. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and was always there for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smith Harding in 1984; a daughter, Hattie King; and her twin sister, Julia Wilkins. She is survived by a son, Charles E. Harding of Lincoln; a grandson, Carl P. King Jr. and his wife Dannette of Lincoln; two great-grandsons, Christian D. King and Jacob R. King, both of Lincoln; a son-in-law, Carl P. King Sr. and his wife Carol of Stuart, Fla.; three nephews, George Wilkins, David Wilkins, and Kenneth Wilkins; two nieces, Margie McBane, and Verna Hensley; and Agnes and Gilbert Shane, who were just like family to Emma. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Burial was in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Calvary United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 301 S.E. Front Street, Milford, DE 19963.
