Emma Darling, 84

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Emma Darling of Sudlersville died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 84.

Mrs. Darling was born July 22, 1922, outside of Millington, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jones.

She spent most of her life working on the family farm and taking care of her family.

She was a member of Holden's Chapel Church in Sudlersville and the Women's Busic Ladies Aide.

Mrs. Darling loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest H. Darling, Jr.; three sisters; a brother; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Ann Walls Darling.

She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Ethel Darling and Fredrick Levi Smith of Greensboro; two sons and two daughters-in-law, William Roger and Candice Rondeau Darling of Centreville and Ernest Albert and Sharon Darling of Barclay; a sister, Louise Strausburg of Fallston; grandchildren, R. Mathew Quicke of Easton, Christopher Gordon Quicke of Easton, William Roger Darling Jr. and wife, Sarah of Sudlersville, Michael Todd Darling and wife, Joyce of Millington, Kimberly Michelle Dewey and husband, John of Kingstown, Sarah Elizabeth Rondeau of Centreville, Diana Miller and husband, Keith of Centreville, Ernest Albert Darling Jr. and wife, Missy of Sudlersville, Wayne Brinson Darling and wife, Julie of Greensboro; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Margaret Darling of Sudlersville.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Sudlersville Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Holdens Chapel Church, c/o Elva Jean Embert, 309 Duhamel Corner Rd., Marydel MD 21649.
