Emily Ann Christie
Our beloved Mom, Emily Ann Christie, once an angel on earth, was called to be an angel in heaven and join our dad, Donald Christie Sr., on Saturday, June 12, 2021.
To have known our mom, was to love her. She was a down to earth, genuine, kind, caring, gentle lady. She always had a smile on her face, not because her life was perfect, no life is, but because she appreciated what she had and all that with which she had been blessed. In the cooler weather you would find her working on a paint by number picture and in the warmer months, she would be puttering in her yard among her flowers, butterflies and hummingbirds. More than anything, she was a people person. She would strike up a conversation with anyone and if they told her to "have a good day," she would respond, "every day is a good day." She meant, and lived those words. How lucky we were to have her as our Mom. We will miss her beyond measure and will cherish the memories she made and left for us.
In addition to her husband, this wonderful woman was preceded in death by her parents Wilmer and Elsie Woodburn and siblings Alice White, William Woodburn, Francis Woodburn, and Mary Jane Wood.
She is survived by her three loving children, Cynthia Lipman (Robert), Deborah Drechsel (David) and Donald Christie, Jr. (Kim); eight grandchildren, Greg (Justin), David (Laura), Christine, Chad (Meg), Christopher (Lori), Ryan, Jennifer, Conor; and seven great grandchildren, Grace, Faith, Everly, Quinn, Jackson, Maya, and Elle. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Abel (Harry); dear friend, Janet Swain; many nieces, nephews, friends, and especially those at "The Center".
We will be forever grateful to Beverly Mears and her staff at Paradise Senior Living for the love, care, and support provided to our Mom during the final moments of her life's journey.
A celebration of Emily's life will be held at a later date and time, that has yet to be determined.
Since being a member of the Milford Senior Center brought her such joy, we ask everyone wishing to make a donation in her memory make it to the Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Avenue, Milford, DE 19963.
