DOVER - Emi M. Cooke, of Dover, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 79.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Tokichi and Yogino Maruyama.
Mrs. Cooke moved to Delaware with her family in 1952, and for the greater part of her life was dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a kind and gentle woman who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and was an avid gardener.
Traveling was a priority with her, as she made several trips abroad.
Mrs. Cooke is survived by her husband of over 57 years, Roual William Cooke of Dover; her daughter, Marie C. Glasco of Dover; two sons, William W. Cooke and Robert J. Cooke, both of Dover; her sister, Michiko Palermo of Philadelphia; three brothers and sisters living in Japan; five grandchildren, Kimberly Glasco of Alaska, Earl Glasco Jr. of North Carolina, and Joseph Glasco, Andrew Glasco and William W. Cooke Jr., all of Dover; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Saturday in Maranatha Fellowship Church, Dover, where services will be at noon.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Maranatha Fellowship Church, 60 Deer Track Lane, Dover, DE 19904.
