MILFORD - Elizabeth V. Wilkerson of Prime Hook Beach, Milford, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, in her home. She was 87.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Overbrook, daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Donovan) Millman.

She was a 1937 graduate of Milton High School.

Mrs. Wilkerson moved to Milford in 1940 after her marriage to Charles H. Wilkerson.

She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was beloved by all. She was affectionately referred to as Mom and Mother by her children, Mom-Mom by her grandchildren and Aunt Bibi and Aunt Elizabeth by her many nieces and nephews. For many years she took care of "The Place," a family store at Prime Hook Beach.

Mrs. Wilkerson was a longtime member of Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford, where she was a dedicated Sunday school teacher in the nursery department for more than 25 years, retiring in 1970. She was an active and devoted member of the Women's Society, Mary Circle and the Sunshine Bible Class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Howard E. Millman, Preston E. Millman, Richard Millman, Harold C. Millman, Roland P. Millman, Fred A. Millman, James M. Millman and Henry B. Millman; and two sisters, Bertha N. Lee and Frances M. Hitchens.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles H. Wilkerson; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Charles V. and Pamela H. Wilkerson of Milford, James H. and Karen Carey Wilkerson of Milford and David A. and Arlene D. Wilkerson of Prime Hook Beach; two grandchildren, Kathryn L. Wilkerson of Townsend and Ty J. Wilkerson of Milford; three brothers, Jesse M. Millman Sr. and Everett L. Millman, both of Milton and Robert P. Millman of Milford; a sister, Sarah J. Tracey of Milton who kept daily contact with her by phone; and four special women, Jeannine Smith, Pat Ammerman, Barbara Colombo and Peggy Derrickson of Griswold Special Care who cared for her over the past several months.

Services will be 7 p.m. Friday in Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford, where friends may call three hours earlier.

Burial will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford, DE, 19963; or the Milford Community Pantry, c/o Avenue United Methodist Church at the same address.

Arrangements by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
