Elizabeth Rosalie (Schiff) McDowell, 92
GREENWOOD - Elizabeth Rosalie (Schiff) McDowell of Greenwood passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 92.
Mrs. MsDowell was born Nov. 30, 1914, in Wallaston, Isle of Wright County, Va., daughter of the late William Albert and Lizzy Ida (Dearth) Schiff.
She worked many years at various sewing factories in Sussex County and Maryland.
Mrs. McDowell enjoyed needlepoint and counted crossstitch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Floyd Edward McDowell in 1989; a son, William F. McDowell in 1970; her grandson, Leon "Rusty" Rust and his wife, Joanne in 1989; and her brother, Walter Schiff in 1989.
She is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Virginia and Willard Thomson Jr., Catherine and Everett Marvil, and Betty Mae Leon Rust Jr., all of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Willard Thomson III of Smyrna, Ga., Deborah Ann Thomas of Central, S.C., Robert Marvil of Greenwood, Everett A. Marvil of Greenwood, Edward Dale Rust of Midlothian, Va. and Rev. Maleia Rust of Townsend; six great-grandchildren, Jeremy Rust, Mandy Rust, Stephanie Marvil, Chase Marvil, Jennifer Hinkle and Carrie McAlexander; four great-great-grandchildren, Conner Marvil, Elizabeth Johnson, Kaleb Hinkle and Chloe Hinkle; and two brothers, Harry Dawson Schiff of Federalsburg, Md. and Noah Edward Schiff of Preston, Md.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, with Mrs. McDowell's granddaughter, the Rev. Maleia Rust officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour earlier.
Burial will follow in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
