GEORGETOWN - Elizabeth R. "Betty" Swain of Georgetown died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

Mrs. Swain was born in Georgetown, daughter of the late Ebe H. and Lena (Short) Rust, and lived in Georgetown all of her life.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where she was a member of the church"s Sunshine Class and was one of the oldest members of the church.

Mrs. Swain had been involved in a local women"s bridge club for many years.

She was a homemaker and truly enjoyed her home and family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swain was preceded in death by her husband, Reese T. Swain, D.D.S., in November 1988.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Swain) Jones and husband, James F., of Sarasota, Fla., and Pamela (Swain) Hodge of Springvale, Maine; a grandson, Keith Blair Hodge III of Springvale; a granddaughter, Sharon E. (Jones) Bartolome and her husband, Carlos, of Sarasota, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 302 N. Bedford St., Georgetown, where friends may call one hour prior, and also from 7 to 9 p.m. today.

The Rev. Anne Pruett-Barnett will officiate.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church, 102 E. Laurel St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
