DOVER - On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, Elizabeth "Susie" Dawes Carbaugh passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice of Christiana.
She was born November 6, 1937, in Wilmington to the late William L. Dawes and Roberta Stewart Dawes.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Clark Carbaugh; and her brother, William Stewart Dawes. Her family is glad that they will now be reunited in Heaven.
Mrs. Carbaugh is survived by sons, Stewart Blair Carbaugh (Andrea) of Bear, Brian Clark Carbaugh of Dover; and grandchildren, Sabina Frances Carbaugh and Nikita Clark Carbaugh.
Mrs. Carbaugh attended the University of Delaware where she met her husband of 58 years. She dedicated her time as a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. A sports enthusiast, she loved watching football, tennis and Nascar races. Susie and Clark enjoyed taking leisurely drives and trips to Vermont.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebabon Road, Dover, Del. Friends may call one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Seasons Hospice Foundation, 220 Continental Dr., Ste 407, Newark, DE 19713.
