Elaine F. Ivey, 86

HARTLY - Elaine F. Ivey of Hartly passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 86.

Mrs. Ivey was born July 5, 1921, in Chase, Md.

She worked as a registered nurse for nursing homes in the Baltimore, area for several years before retirement.

Mrs. Ivey was very active in the American Red Cross, and was a volunteer for the Library for the Visually Impaired and Physically Handicapped and a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Mamie Warren Senior Center, both near Kenton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ivey, in 1977.

She is survived by a daughter, Alaine Hardin, with whom she lived; a sister, Patricia Durken of Morgantown, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jeanette Havel of Marydel and Christina Hardin-Dirksen of Dover; three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Feb. 9 in Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Bryn-Zion Road, near Kenton.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to People's Place II, 1129 Airport Road, Milford, DE 19963.

Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Smyrna.
