Lange, 96 Harrington - Edward S. Lange ("Ed") passed away on Friday April 25th 2014, at Bay Health Medical Center in Milford, DE. He was born on Jan. 14, 1918 in New York, NY, son of the late Edward and Mae Lange. Originally coming from Willow Grove, NJ, Ed has resided in Harrington, DE for the past 15 years. Ed spent most of his working life as a supervisor with the glass-making company, Owens Illinois. He then retired at the age of 60, after 44 years of work. Ed was a devout Christian and an active member of his local senior center in Frederica, DE. In addition to his local support within his community, Ed found joy tending to his vegetable gardens. Known by his family and friends as a loving father and a German shepherd advocate, he will truly be missed by all those who loved him. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Edith Lange, and his son, Edward Lange, III. Ed is survived by his son, Kenneth Lange and his wife, Barbara; his daughter-in law, Carol Lange; his seven grandchildren: Tracy (Lange) Roagers , Jeni (Lange) Oyuelo, Donna Marie (Lewis) Gorman, Carol Ann Lange, Donald Joseph Lewis, John Edward Lewis, and Arthur William Lewis, Jr., and thirteen great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Wednesday April 30th, 2014 at Berry-Short Funeral Home 119 NW Front Street Milford, DE 19963, at 9:00AM. The funeral service will follow the viewing at 10:00AM that same day. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Willow Grove Methodist Church Cemetery 1841 Parvin Mill Rd, Elmer, NJ 08318.
