
Edward E. "Ed" Cole, 71, of County Line Road, Turbotville, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.
Born May 22, 1946 in Sunbury, he was the son of the late Stanley A. and Jane M. (Reibsome) Cole. On October 21, 1967 he married the former Ann L. Hilton and they have celebrated 50 years of marriage.
He was a 1965 graduate of Warrior Run High School and owned and operated Ed Cole's Floor and Wall Covering of Turbotville for 40 years.
Ed was a member of the North Montour Sportsman's Club, the Chillisquaque Water Shed Association, and Taylor Creek Gun Club. Ed volunteered at the Milton Food Bank. He was a former member of the Turbotville Lions Club.
Ed was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton where he was involved with "Kidz Way" children's ministry.
Ed loved hunting, fishing, carving, canoeing, and drawing. During his retirement Ed enjoyed introducing his granddaughter, Lauren, and nieces and nephews to outdoor activities like hiking, shooting, and boating. Ed's most precious time was spent enjoying the wilderness, gardening, making memories and traveling with his family, and worshiping with his church family at Christ Wesleyan.
Surviving besides his wife, Ann L. Cole at home are a daughter, Penny L. Hitesman and her husband Kevin of Dover, DE; a granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Hitesman; a brother, Seth L. Cole and his wife Linda of Bloomsburg; and a special niece, Margaret Rovenolt and her husband Frank and their children, Madison, Beau, Larissa, and Allison.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a sister, Peggy A. Rovenolt who died September 20, 2012.
Friends and family are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, May 1 at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville, and 11 AM to 12 PM, on Wednesday, May 2 at Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, where funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Ken Paulhamus, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Benton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to "Kidz Way" or the "Benevolence Fund" of Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA 17847.
