Edna Mae Dorrell, 72
SMYRNA - Edna Mae Dorrell, of Smyrna, died on Friday, May 30, 2008, at her home. She was 72.
She was born in Bradford, Pa., to the late Edgar and Arlene Wells.
Mrs. Dorrell was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, where she was very active.
She loved her family especially the grandchildren.
Ms. Dorrell loved to pass the time by putting puzzles together, or going fishing.
She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers.
Mrs. Dorrell loved to travel to North Carolina to visit friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Edward N. Thomas and John Dorrell.
She is survived by two sons, John E. Dorrell Jr. of New Castle, Franklin Dorrell of Wilmington; three daughters, Audrey A. Bennett of Whittier, N.C., Brenda McCleary of Elkton, Md., and Christiana Swoboda of Cambridge, Md.; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Instead of flowers, family request donations to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
