E. Eugene "Smitty" Smith, 56
DOVER - E. Eugene "Smitty" Smith of Dover passed away Friday, July 6, 2007, in his home. He was 65.
Mr. Smith was born May 10, 1942, in Detroit, son of Ambers L. Smith of Cookeville, Tenn. and the late Alice Smith.
He served in the National Guard.
He was an assembly line worker for GMAC in Wilmington for several years before retirement.
Mr. Smith was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching NASCAR and listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife, Alice "Sue" Lang Smith; two sons, Kenneth E. Smith of Dover and Craig S. Smith of Middletown; five brothers, Denny E. Smith, Freelan Smith and Dale Smith all of Cookeville, Lannie E. Smith of Flint, Mich. and James V. Smith of Hominy, Okla.; three sisters, Phyllis Anderson of Smyrna, Tenn., Wanda Smith-Waitman of Brookville, Ohio and Marilyn Quillen of Elkton, Md.; and three grandchildren, Ashley N. Smith, James D. Smith and Caitlyn S. Smith.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Smyrna Church of Christ, 1630 Joe Goldsborough Road, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements by Faries Funeral Directors, Inc., 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
