Duane Patric Farrell

DOVER - Duane Patric Farrell of Dover (formerly of Oxford, Conn.), passed away Dec. 10, 2018 surrounded by those who loved him.
Duane was born in Dover on July 25, 1959. After graduating from Dover High School he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served 22 years. With a burgeoning career starting from completion of Nuclear Power and Naval Engineering School, he achieved the highest rank of an enlisted officer, MMCM (SS), Chief of the Boat. After retirement from the Navy he worked 16 years for ASML (Wilton, Conn.), in which he operated as Global Procurement Manager and later worked for DMC Power as Special Projects Manager (New Castle). Duane's hobbies include a love of music, wood working, and fishing. He spent his free time making pizza and beer, working on various projects and spending time with family.
Duane is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lori Hurst-Farrell; his children, Shannon Crum (Matt), Mandi Thornton (Jesse), Joel Hurst-Farrell, and Kaitlin Hurst-Farrell; five grandchildren; his father's wife, Shirley; and his siblings, Crystal Trythall, Kim Mullens and Steve Dear. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Farrell, Connie Grace; and brother, Bryson.
Memorial Service Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, 3 p.m. at Christ Church Quaker Farms, 470 Quaker Farms Rd., Oxford, CT 06478. Following the services fellowship will take place at the church.
