Dr. Harry Glenn Neese Jr.

Dr. Harry Glenn Neese Jr. WYOMING - Dr. Harry Glenn Neese Jr., formerly of Wyoming, passed away on Jan. 8, 2010, in South Carolina. He was born on July 22, 1920, in Wilmington. He was captain of his high school swimming team, winning 220 yards state championship of 1937; also managing editor of the school paper. He was in the Boys Scouts of America and reached the rank of Eagle Scout. His family moved to Wyoming in 1939. He was attending the University of Delaware and receiving his premedical degree and then went to Temple University receiving his medical degree. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Junior Medical Officer aboard the USS Denver. At the end of World War II, he returned to Wyoming to establish his medical practice on Broad St. On April 2, 1949, he married Cathleen L. Neely and had two children. During his 30 year practice, he served as the team doctor for Caesar Rodney school student athletes. He also served on the Caesar Rodney School Board for seventeen years, some of which he was President. He also was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co. He retired in July 1976 and moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C. His wife Cathleen L. Neese passed away, and remarried his present wife. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Neese; two children, Harry Glenn Neese III, and Robin L. Bramble; step-daughters, Laura Guthrie, Clarisa Schnider, and Sally Shaffer; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, with a reception to follow in the family worship center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co., Memorial Trust Fund, P.O. Box 186, Camden, DE 19934.
