DOVER - Dr. Albert B. Miller, Sr. retired Chairperson of the Psychology Department at Delaware State University, passed away on April 6, 2021.
Dr. Miller came to Delaware State University in 1967 and was Professor and Chairperson of the Psychology Department for 37 years. Prior to coming to Delaware State, he served as a Counterintelligence Officer for the U.S. Army. Earlier in his career while serving as an Engineer at the Martin Marietta Corporation, he was the navigator on the Apollo lunar orbit simulator.
Dr. Miller is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Stratton Miller; their children, Albert Miller, Jr. (Rebecca), Leigh Miller (Patrick), Sara Fuller (Charles) and Jane Wandless (Paul). He is also survived by his brother, Jon Lloyd Miller, Sr.; sister, Jane E. Flipping; his grandchildren, Morgan, Clare, Miles and Lachlan; along with many special nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sara Miller; his sister, Ruth Walker; two brothers, William Preston Miller, Paul Wendell Miller; and his granddaughter, Marisa Harris.
Funeral services are private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice.
