MILLVILLE - Douglas Lee Keith passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018.
Born in Wilmington on July 6, 1946, he was a son of the late Alfred F. Keith and Martha (Hearne) Spencer. Following high school graduation, Douglas enlisted with the Army National Guard, retiring after many dedicated years. He spent the bulk of his career working for Blind Factory, a family owned business, and handled many tasks.
Doug savored being a part of his grandchildren's activities. From baseball to ballet, he always tried to be present to cheer for them. He loved taking his family to Walt Disney World. Doug also enjoyed playing golf, especially with his military friends. He traveled all over the country and tried to play a round wherever he went. Doug liked to walk on the boardwalk and visit different wineries throughout the region.
Douglas is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Lois R. Colwell; his sons, Kelly A. Keith of Wilmington, Tyler W. Keith (Kristin) of Hockessin and Chet A. Keith (Sarah) of Middletown; brother, Richard W. Keith (Margaret) of Newark; sister, Joyce K. Colwell of New Castle; his grandchildren, Colin, Ashtin, Kylie, Wesley, Addison, Brennan, Sophia, Liam and Gabriel; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be held in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
