Dorothy Virginia (Dorsey) Brooks
WORTON, Md. - After a brief illness, Dorothy Virginia (Dorsey) Brooks of Worton peacefully slipped away Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Chester River Hospital in Chestertown.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Henry James and Ida Mariah (Wilmer) Dorsey.
She was educated in Coleman Corner.
Dorothy worked various jobs, which included Chesapeake Restaurant in Betterton. She also worked for the Johnson"s and at Drayton Manor where she later retired.
She was a diligent member of the Friendly Chorus and was a talented piano player.
Dorothy was married to the late Marshall Brooks and from this union one son was born, Bernard D. Brooks Sr., who also preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter-in-law, Agnes L. Brooks of Worton; five grandchildren, Dalene Brooks of Worton, Barbara Watson (William), Melanie Brooks Coleman (Darnell), and Charlene Aryers (Prophet Michael Aryers), all of Magnolia, and Bernard Brooks Jr. of Harrington, Del.; one sister-in-law, Joyce Brooks of Worton; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; nine nieces; four great-nieces; three great-nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union United Methodist Church, 13223 Wyble Road, Coleman"s Corner, Worton. A viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
