LINCOLN - Dorothy Lee Murphy passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2018 surrounded by her family at home. Raised in Upland, Pa., Dorothy has resided in Lincoln for 25 years, previously residing in Glen Mills, Pa.
Dorothy was known as a very giving, caring and stoic woman who lived life her way - on her terms until her death. A dedicated and hard worker, she retired from Dupont Graphics Center in Bethel Twp. in 1989. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters, watching her granddaughter compete in rodeos, her beloved dog, Sally, and the PBR's (Professional Bull Riders). In her spare time, she volunteered at the Milford Seniors Center.
In addition to her mother, Catherine Markel; and father, Ralph Corkadel, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Murphy Sr. who died in 1979; and six siblings, Catherine Fleming, Mary Scholes, Norman "Buddy" Corkadel, Carl Corkadel and Jackie and William who passed away as children.
Dorothy is survived by two children, Linda J. Murphy and N. Jim Murphy Jr. and his wife Karen; a sister, Shirley McCoy; and a brother, Elmer Lee Markel; as well as four grandchildren, Shannon-Lin, Kelsey, Tori and Emily Murphy.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning, Oct. 6, 2018, from 8:30-10-30 a.m. at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, Pa. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pa.
