She later married Jack Baker, who died of a heart attack, and Thomas Marabella, who died from complications of multiple sclerosis.

Dorothy lived most of her life in the Philadelphia area and retired from Wyeth International Pharmaceutical Co.

In retirement, she cultivated her passion of gardening until she was beset by Alzheimer's and later cancer.

Dorothy moved to Dover in 2001 and lived at Green Meadows and State Street Assisted Living, finally moving in with her great-niece the final three and a half years of her life.

She lived her life with an intense love of God.

Dorothy's integrity, strength, generosity and bravery were an inspiration to many. She will be deeply missed.

Interment will be in the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research, 110 Possum Hollow Road, Newark, DE 19711.

Arrangements by Cavanagh-Patterson Family Funeral Home, Media.
