DOVER - Doris Clark Jackson died Tuesday, May 29, 2013 at age 100+. She was born Feb. 24, 1913 in Dover. In 1937, she married James Bice Jackson of Dover, who died in 2003 after 67 years of marriage. Throughout her life she was a contented and caring wife and mother. She was involved in community and charitable activities, and gave freely of her time and support. During her life she surrounded herself with family and lifetime friends. She is survived by her son Charles Terry Jackson, II, his wife Theodora Hughes Jackson; son Thomas Clark Jackson, his wife Martha Anne Saunders Jackson; granddaughter Anne Jackson Jones and her husband Thad Monteran Jones (Charlottesville, Va.); grandsons Charles Terry Jackson, III (Pat), James Garnett Jackson, and William Randolph Jackson and his wife Katy Limmer Jackson (Wilmington, N.C.); William Phillip Dunn and his wife Wendy Pharr Dunn (Lancaster, Pa.); nine great -grandchildren, Ruby Bice Jackson, Jonah Bice Jackson, Thaddeus Jackson Jones, Thomas Garnett Jones, and Henry Hollingsworth Jones, Anne Margaret Dunn, Kathryn Elizabeth Dunn and William Phillip Dunn, III. A graveside service will be Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery, State Street. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to The Friends of Old Dover – James B. Jackson Fund or to a charity of your choice. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
