Donald Eugene Barker, 59

WYOMING - Donald Eugene Barker of Wyoming died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 59.

He was born October 1947 in Wheeling, W.Va., son of the late Archie John and Carrie Isabelle (Laughrige) Barker.

Mr. Barker worked as a heavy equipment operator for TILCON. He also worked for Consol Coal Co. for 12 years.

He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was in Vietnam for 19½ months.

He was a life member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman's Society.

His many hobbies included bass fishing, computers, regular Web-cam communication with his brothers and taking cruises with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janet (Dill) Barker; a son, Eric Barker and his friend Barb Walton of Wyoming; four brothers, David Barker and his wife Judy of Cadiz, Ohio, Kenneth Barker and his wife Karen of Albion, Ill., Gary Barker and his wife Kathy of Cadiz and John Barker and his wife Virginia of Cambridge, Ohio; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends.

During his life, he enjoyed the faithful companionship of his late dogs, Onyx and Rascal.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Edgehill Community Church of God, 702 Maple Parkway, Dover, DE 19901.
