MILFORD - Dolores E. Turner, of Milford, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, Jan. 23, 2009, at home surrounded by her family. She 72. She was born Feb. 28, 1936, to the late Frank L. and Elsie Mae Dill. Dolores worked her whole life as a seamstress. She started her career of 20 years at Playtex, then worked in the Ace Shirt Factory in Harrington before retiring from Milford Stitching. Mrs. Turner graduated from Felton High School. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She adored her grandkids and loved to spoil them. Mrs. Turner always lived for today, would tell it like it is, and always took care of others before herself. She enjoyed dancing, music, playing cards, surf fishing every Sunday, and was an avid shuffleboard player. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge, and a one time treasurer of Academy of Friendship. She was a member of the American Legion of Dover, and the VFW. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Turner Sr.; a daughter, D. Fay Wood; and a son, Edward Franklin Cahall. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Bowles of Mocksville, N.C., Deborah Jean Hennessey, also Mocksville, and Linda (Darlene) Buckles of Lincoln; son, John Stafford of Houston; brothers, Harold Bailey of Dover, William Bailey of Wilmington, and Leo Bailey of Nevada; uncle, Robert Paris of Wilmington; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
