Dennis Francis Underwood

DOVER - Dennis Francis Underwood of Dover passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 at home. Mr. Underwood was born Jan. 6, 1935 in Chadds Ford, Pa. to the late Carroll Underwood and Helen Prior Underwood. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Underwood worked for Coca Cola, USA, Fountain Sales Division, in the Engineering Department for 31 years, retiring in 1987. He had also owned Treasures for Two Antique's buying and selling on the east coast, Florida, and owned Folk Art Store in Chadds Ford, Pa. Mr. Underwood was a member of the American Legion in Long Neck, Del. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Hallett Underwood of Baltimore, Md.; Richard D. Underwood and his wife Christine of Melbourne, Fla., and Dirone Troy Underwood and his wife Cristie of Pottstown, Pa.; grandsons, Wesley C. Underwood and Christopher A. Underwood both of Melbourne, Fla. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call from 9-11 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
