Failing, 82 WYOMING - Delmas K. "Babe" Failing died suddenly on Jan. 14, 2016 at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover. He was the son of Raymond and Euphemia "Millie" Failing. Babe was a proud graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, where he was an outstanding athlete and president of his senior class. He was retired after 36 years of service from Verizon (formerly Diamond State Telephone Company), where he was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers serving the community, including construction of accessibility ramps for those in need. Babe was a Lifetime Member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company and also an active member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church for over 60 years. He served in many roles and was involved in the installation of the church organs in both the old church in town and at the new location. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; and two sisters. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Marker) "Dotty" Failing; his children, Delmas K. "Del" Failing, Jr., Dennis Failing (Pam), David "Dave" Failing (Jeanette), Lisa Moran (Rob), Craig Failing (Dianne) and Melanie Carlson (Derek); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 17 from 6-8 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE. Burial to follow in Odds Fellow Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Michael J. Fox Foundation, or the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfunerahome.com
