FELTON - Delema H. Maris passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Delema was born on Nov. 30, 1915 to the late Edward and Emma Holleger. Delema owned and operated a day care for many years. She loved all her kids and was fondly known to all as Mommy Dee. She also attended Felton Methodist Church and was a life time member of the Felton Ladies Auxiliary and recently was awarded her pin for 50 years of service. In addition to her parents, Delema was preceded in death by her husband, C. Gordon Maris; two brothers, Donald and Edgar Holleger; and one sister, Doris Simpson. Delema is survived by two daughters, Jean Rawding of Felton and Ellen Beinhauer of Scenery Hill, Pa.; one son, Robert Maris of Felton; seven grandchildren, Nancy Sapp, Shirley Killen, Lisa Beinhauer, Lori Criswell, Brain Beinhauer, Chad Maris and Staci Simpson; 13 great-grandchildren, Stephanie Martinez, David Killen, Tara Gallagher, Andy Sapp, Nole Criswell, Tanner Criswell, Amanda Beinhauer, Karissa Jones, Hannah Beinhauer, Brody Beinhauer, Quinton Maris, Madison and Blake Simpson; five great-great-grandchildren, Drake Jones, Mason Shaw, Griffin Martinez, Kylie Martinez and Harrison Martinez. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, Del., where friends may call on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. for a viewing. Interment will be Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE.
