On March 13, 2022, David W. Sockrider, peacefully passed away at Bayhealth – Sussex Campus.
He was born on March 16, 1947 in Milford to the late Wilson and Helen Sockrider.
David was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1965.
He received his Bachelors' Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Barton College in Wilson, N.C. At college he met the love of his life, Linda Bailey.
David worked as a Forensic Chemist for the Delaware State Police for 37 years.
He was a member of the Mid – Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists. He was also a lifelong member of Avenue United Methodist Church.
In his spare time, he loved kayaking, walking, biking, and traveling with his wife. He also loved his many dogs starting with Butch and ending with Hannah.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Sockrider; along with many beloved cousins and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday 3/19, with a funeral service at 12 noon.
Interment is Milford Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 DuPont Blvd. Georgetown, DE 19947.
