LINCOLN - David Paul "Smitty" Smith, Sr. departed this life Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Milford to Paul and Marian Smith. He was the youngest of five children.
Smitty retired from Perdue after 20 years, and then worked for his life-long friend at C& J Paving for 18 years.
He will be remembered as a hard-working man that played even harder. He had a love for classic rock and valued his collection of shot glasses and knives.
Smitty was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of Greenwood; daughter, Shari; son, David Paul Smith, Jr.; daughter, 'Bugg' Danielle; as well as many grandchildren, all of Lincoln.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with a time of visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Slaughter Neck Cemetery, Milford.
