HENDERSON, Md. - David F. Wendig of Henderson, Md. died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, Md. He was 77. David was born June 8, 1936 in Doylestown, Pa. the son of the late Edward Wendig and Mary Wiggins Dreggors. After attending school at Deland High School in DeLand, Fla. he enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany and served proudly for several years before an honorable discharge. He married Josephine Wendig in 1962 and the two began a family together. He began working for Leeds Travelware in Clayton, Del. for a number of years. He then went to work for Bay Resins in Millington, Md. After leaving Bay Resins he went to work for Marriott International at the Wye River Conference Centers in Queenstown, Md. David was a past member of the Clayton VFW. He enjoyed animals, gardening, working in his yard and a little farming on the side. His love for nature and being outside was constant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Wendig in 2011. He is survived by one son, David L. Wendig of Henderson, Md.; one daughter, Lisa A. Wendig of Easton, Md.; one brother, Bruce Wendig of Port Orange, Fla.; two sisters, Janet Wendig of Edgewater, Fla., June Taylor of Yadkinville, N.C.; as well as numerous brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews and; his two dogs, Abbie and Bogie. A visitation will be held 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 fat Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 Cypress St. Millington, MD. Services will be 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
