DOVER - Danielle DeShields slipped quietly away on May 5, 2012, at Christiana Hospital. Survived by her mother, Hazel Grooms; children, Da'Jour and Akiara DeShields; siblings, James Purnell Jr., Ricky, Ige, Jamie, and Rainey Purnell; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Star Hill AME Church, Star Hill, DE, where Rev. Rita M. Paige will deliver the eulogy. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
