HARRINGTON - Curtis O. Bartley of Harrington died Friday, July 13, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 49.

Mr. Bartley was born in Dover, son of David W. and Sandra Ryan of Harrington.

He worked in retail sales for Keen Compressed Gas.

When he was not working, he enjoyed line dancing, gardening and working around his home. He loved the outdoors, going hiking and going to the beach. He was a great music lover and enjoyed listening to all types of music. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and cooking out. He was "Master of the Grill" when he was barbecuing. Most of all, Mr. Bartley enjoyed being around his family and friends and having a good time.

Mr. Bartley was often the life of the party and took great pleasure in acting up and playing jokes. He enjoyed making other people laugh, and he was well loved, respected and a great friend to everybody.

He will be remembered as a very thoughtful person who was a man of his word. Whenever you needed a hand, he was always there without hesitation and you could always count on him. He was very reliable and never minded helping others. He lived his life to the fullest because he loved life and lived for every moment.

He will be sorely missed, and his short time here on Earth will be forever remembered and cherished by his wife, family and close friends.

Mr. Bartley was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen C. Atkins Bartley; his stepdaughter, Tabitha Warrington, and her husband, John, of Melbourne, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Ellen Chasteen, and her husband, William, of Easley, S.C.; his father-in-law, Ralph Campbell, and his wife, Bonnie, of Jerusalem, Ark.; his brothers, Blake A. Bartley and his wife, Holly, and David C. Ryan, all of Harrington; his granddaughters, Grace Ann and Autumn Rayne Warrington; and numerous nieces and nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Commerce St., Harrington, DE 19952.
