MILLSBORO - Colbert Lee Strand of Millsboro died Monday, July 9, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md., as result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Millsboro. He was 42.
Mr. Strand graduated from Indian River High School, Dagsboro.
Upon his completion of school, he was employed full time by Perdue Farms Inc. in Georgetown, and part time at Pasco as a parts-delivery person.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Harmon and Beatrice Westcott.
He is survived by his wife of one year, Lisa Strand of Millsboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica Hicks of Georgetown, and Taren "Tillie" and Harmon Noncent of Virginia; six stepchildren, Chantel Mann, Xavier Mann, Zonel Mann, Lamaj Mann, JuWuan Mann and Bre Mann, all of Millsboro; five brothers, Lawrence Strand, Arthur Strand and Ronald Lee, all of Georgetown, James Strand of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Horace Strand of Laurel; four sisters, Betty Kellam and Tina Brownlow, both of Laurel, Joyce Strand of Georgetown and Sylvia Sturgis of Millsboro; his mother-in-law, Cara Mann of Millsboro; 10 brothers-in-law, Raymond Sturgis, Warren Fletcher, Preston Strand, Clyde Young, George Mann Sr., George Mann Jr., Michael Mann, Curtis Mann, Thomas Brownlow and Apostle Thomas Sturgis; four sisters-in-law, Josephine Ricketts, Christine Farrington, Alberta Mann and Linda Jones; three uncles, Fletcher Westcott, Kenneth Westcott and Roland Westcott; five aunts, Gladys Mason, Georgeanna Sturgis, Gloria Fletcher, Farris Mae Strand and Adell Davis; five best friends, Mark Tingle, Ronnie Mason, his brother, James Strand, Calvin Westcott and Wade Cherry; and a host of other family and friends.
Services will be noon Tuesday in the Pilgrims Ministry of Deliverance Church, U.S. 113 south, Georgetown, where friends may call one hour earlier. Apostle Thomas Sturgis will deliver the eulogy.
Burial will be in Mount Zion Church Cemetery, Milton.
