CEDAR NECK - Clifford Knotts of Cedar Neck, died of a stroke on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011. He was born Feb. 7, 1935, to Earl and Mabel (Luff) Knotts. He started working as an electric lineman at the age of 17 for electrical contractors up and down the East Coast. Clifford joined the City of Milford Electric Department in 1960 and retired from there in 1997. He attended Cedar Neck Church where he was grounds keeper for the last 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Lola; two sons, Keith of Milford and Trevor of Iowa; one daughter, Donna of Milford; two grandchildren, Tyler and Connor Knotts; also a son and daughter from a previous marriage, Clifford E. Jr. and Brenda Humphrey, both of Harrington; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Knotts and Harry Knotts, both of Harrington; and three sisters, Elaine Workman of Wilmington, Earlene Stanley of Dover and Constance Quillen of Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends may call from 1 - 2 p.m. Friends may also call from 6 - 8 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Neck Cemetery, Cedar Beach Road, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Cedar Neck Church, 3413 McColley Road, Milford, DE 19963.
