FAIRLEE, Md. - Claude Wesley Moore Sr. of Fairlee died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in his home. He was 94.

Mr. Moore was born June 28, 1912, son of the late John Wesley and Ida Jane (Jones) Moore.

He was a lifetime resident of the Chestertown area, where he owned and operated Tilden Hill Farm for 30 years.

Following the sale of the farm, Mr. Moore, known as a skilled craftsman, became a cabinet maker and upholsterer specializing in furniture reproductions.

He was a member of the Chestertown Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Moore; three sisters, Eva Casper, Ethel Barnes and Helen Skeggs; and a grandson, Starett Roberts.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna (Willis) Moore; three sons, C. Wesley Moore Jr. and his wife Mary Adda, and Michael A. Moore, all of Chestertown, and John W. Moore and his wife Kathleen of Centreville; a daughter, Phyllis M. Roberts and her husband Edwin of Hendersonville, N.C.; a sister, Betty White of Cambridge; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Old St. Paul"s Cemetery, 7600 Sandy Bottom Road, Chestertown.

Memorials may be offered to the Chestertown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 305 N. Kent St., Chestertown, MD 21620.
