Claude Junior Milam

GEORGETOWN - Claude Junior Milam, of Georgetown, died at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Oct. 24, 2014. He was born in Algoma, West Va., the son of the late Wiley W. and Rachel Milam. Mr. Milam was a member of the Old Paths Church of Christ in Georgetown, Del. He served in the National Guard for 6 years, was a partner in MILAM WELL DRILLING, worked for Elwood Workman and Son for 20 years, the Seaford Feed Company for 20 years, and was a poultry grower for 20 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ellen Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bernice Burks Milam; three children. Herbert Nelson Milam (Linda Marie Todd) of Bridgeville, Wiley Junior Milam (Linda Lou Parsons) of Millsboro, and Ethel Mae Hoffman of Milford. He is also survived by two brothers, Wade Milam (Mary Lee) and Hobert Milam of Georgetown; as well as two sisters, Edith Boyce of Milford and Helen Caulk (W.C. Caulk) of Wyoming, Del. Mr. Milam is survived by his grandchildren, Travis Nelson Milam, Jennifer and Rachel Hoffman, Kelly Marie Milam; one step-grandson, Tyler Houseman; and two step-great-grandchildren, Alexis and Lucas Houseman. Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Old Paths Church of Christ, 18246 Redden Road, Georgetown, DE 19947. The viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. with services to follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to Old Paths Church of Christ. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
