MILLINGTON, Md. - Clarence F. "PeeWee" Marvel of Millington died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. He was 74.
Mr. Marvel was born in Queen Anne"s County, son of the late Clarence P. and Mary (Weller) Marvel.
PeeWee was a truck driver for most of his life, and worked for nearly 30 years for William Simpler Construction Co. of Millington until his retirement in 1999.
Mr. Marvel enjoyed collecting, playing cards and going to the slots.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marvel was preceded in death by two sisters, Nettie Smith and Virginia Usilton.
Mr. Marvel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris V. Marvel; three sons, Charles A. and his wife Wendy Marvel of Ellendale, Del., and Gary R. Marvel and Donnie F. Marvel, both of Grasonville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where a service of remembrance will begin at 8 p.m.
Interment will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Shore Chapter, 1358 Parsons Road, Salisbury, Md. 21801.
