Clara A. Bartko

HARRINGTON - Clara A. Bartko went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, in Kent General Hospital. Mrs. Bartko was born June 27,1928, in Baltimore, Md.; to the late, Forest & Lillian Francis. She was primarily a homemaker, who lovingly cared for her six children. She would always do anything for her family, and made good friends wherever she went. Clara was a loyal member of Manship Chapel, Felton, and enjoyed her work as a foster grandparent at Lake Forest North Elementary School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerard C. Brandner, and Michael Bartko. Mrs. Bartko is survived by her children, Chuck Brandner & his wife, Tamara, with whom she resided; Barbara Brandner, of West Branch, Mich.; Thomas Brandner & wife, Belinda, of Kingston, N.C.; Denise Stone and James Brandner, both of Baltimore; Janet Campbell, of Las Cruces, N.M.; and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, in Manship Chapel, 4912 Burnite Mill Road, Felton, Del.; Pastor Bruce Tribbitt, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713 or to the First State Animal Shelter, Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
