HOUSTON - Christopher Milton Pitts of Houston was born Dec. 25, 1954, in Dover, to the late Harold M. Stewart and Marian B. Pitts. He departed this life Thursday, April 5, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 52.
Chris grew up in Delaware and attended the Caesar Rodney and Smyrna school districts.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening, auto maintenance, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
While Chris held various jobs throughout the years, he really enjoyed the lawn care business, which led him to meet Gary Brown, a close friend, mentor and employer.
He could often be heard making a good joke and was the life of the party. He will be greatly missed.
Chris gave his life to the Lord several years ago, and was an active member of Faith, Hope and Love Church, Milford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis Minus, Kenneth Pitts and Robert Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Nathalie; three sons, Christopher Groce, Keyon Pitts and Lugene Scott; five daughters, Shaunta Pitts, Nathalien Woodall, Katrina Woodall, Chantell Scott and Thais Lockett; a son-in-law, Gregory Lockett; 10 grandchildren; seven sisters, Jean Thomas, Barbara and Ginios "JC" Saunders, Carolyn Bromell, Janice Delice, Sandra Ross, Elsie and Roger Smith and Catherine Sawyer; six brothers, John and Cheryl Pitts, Harold Murry, Robert and Louis Murry, Courtland Pitts, Charles Ross and Michael Pitts; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Rosa Wright; two sisters-in-law, Norma and Glen Jenkins and Trina and Malcolm Thompson; five brothers-in-law, Earnell Scott, Warren and Paula Wright, Norman and Rose Wright, Emmitt Wright and Christopher Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to his viewing Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Mount Enon Baptist Church, 518 Church St., Milford, where services will follow.
Interment will be in Williamsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Keyon Pitts, c/o Chantell Scott, 214 Thornton St., Dover, DE 19901.
