DOVER - Catherine McMichael passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 97. Catherine was born on March 13, 1914, in Millington, Md., daughter of the late John and Bessie (Liger) McMullen. She was the last of 12 children. She retired from Playtex of Dover at the age of 61 after working 30 years and then enjoyed life as a homemaker. Catherine was a member of the Lebanon Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rembert Cannon; and her second husband, Edwin McMichael; a son, Lloyd C. Cannon; and a granddaughter, Vera Dixon. She is survived by a daughter, Doris Robbins and her husband John of Clayton; five grandchildren, Laurie Robbins of Dover, Robin David of Smyrna, John Robbins Jr. of Clayton, Beverly Dadds of Church Hill, Md., and Joyce Bloodsworth of Centerville, Md.; five great- grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Services will be noon, Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
