Catherine Mary Mignogno, 80
ELLENDALE - Catherine Mary Mignogno of Ellendale died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, in her home. She was 80.
Mrs. Mignogno was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Abington Township, Pa., daughter of the late John and Catherine (Whalen) McNeill.
She lived in Roslyn, Pa., for 27 years, where she was an active member of the community. She and her husband Michael J. Mignogno, then moved to the Pocono Mountains, Pa., Florida and finally to Ellendale, where she lived for the last eight years.
Mrs. Mignogno was a homemaker.
She loved to collect bears and enjoyed crocheting. She enjoyed to dance and would go to the local Young Men's Christian Association, Abington, Pa. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and loved taking care of her family.
Mrs. Mignogno was a member of St. John the Cross Roman Catholic Church, Roslyn, where she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. Many years ago she served as a Cub Scout den mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James McNeill and Edward Valentine McNeill.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Michael J. Mignogno; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Jayne Mignogno of Waldorf, Md., Patrick J. and Gail Mignogno of Lancaster, Ohio, and Dennis and Paula Mignogno of Lincoln; a sister, Mary (McNeill) Knapp of Gwynede Valley, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Megan Mignogno, Brian Mignogno, Craig Mignogno, Kevin Mignogno, Lauren Mignogno, Michael Mignogno and Katie Mignogno.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. John of the Cross Roman Catholic Church, 2741 Woodland Road, Roslyn.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 9 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.
