DOVER - Carroll Erving Waters, of Dover, departed this life, Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was 64.
He was born March 13, 1944, in Middletown, son of the late Wilmore and Anna Rachel Waters.
Carroll, or "Catfish" as he was called by friends, attended Louis L. Redding School and upon graduating he went into the military for a short period of time.
He then worked for St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington for a number of years until he started his own business.
Carroll married Capathia Edwards, who is now deceased.
He always was very active, happy-go-lucky, creative, persistent, rough, ready and passionate about life from childhood through his last days in the hospital.
Carroll leaves to cherish his memories two children, one son, Carl Bibbins of Smyrna, and one daughter, Constance Ewing of Dover; two grandchildren, Steffon Campbell of Smyrna and Ayanna Davis of Dover; four sisters, Margot Crawford of Chester, Pa., Henrietta (Donald) Wilson of Middletown, Effie (James) Walker of Dover and Patricia Inez Waters of Middletown; three brothers, Gary (Mary) Waters of Magnolia, Ronald (Effie) Waters of Killeen, Texas, and Vincent (Alberta) Waters of Dunedin, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Helen Waters of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two aunts, Margaret Dowens of Camden, N.J., and Addie Waters of Middletown; one uncle, Robert Shelton of Camden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover, where friends may call two hours prior.
