Carol "Bonnie" Stanley, born on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941 to Mildred Eatmon and Earlie Gibson in the small town of Ensley, Ala. She departed this life on Aug. 10, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
At an early age, she moved to Detroit, Mich. with her family and was raised in Jefferson Projects. She met and married William "Billy" Stanley and together they had four (4) children. She traveled all over the world with husband in the military and retired in Dover.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earlie; and mother, Mildred; a brother, Edward; and a sister, Peggy.
She is survived by her husband, William (Billy) Stanley; four (4) children, Carol, (Johnny, Sr), Carl, Michelle, and Barbara; two (2) sisters, Patricia Gibson and Deborah Williams; three (3) grandchildren, Devon and John Wilkes, Jr., and Tiffany Brinkley; and a host of nieces, great-grandchildren and friends.
Service of celebration will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 at Evan W. Smith Funeral Services, 518 S. Bay Rd, Dover. Viewing from 8 to 10 a.m., with formal home going service to follow. Interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.
