GEORGETOWN - Carol J. Dufour went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. She was born in Pontiac, Mich. on July 1, 1946 to the late Gordon and Velma (nee Goff) Tallon.
Carol was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown. For over 46 years, she spoke into the lives of children, teaching at all grade levels; first, in Marian, Ind., and then once living in Delaware at Georgetown Christian School, Lewes Christian School and Seaford Christian Academy. Carol also served the Lord faithfully as a pastor's wife for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by both of her siblings, Robert Tallon and Stephen Tallon.
Carol is survived by her husband of 51 years, Pastor Roderick E. 'Rod' Dufour; four children, Michael Todd Dufour (Sue), Christopher Rod Dufour (Terri), Andrea Joy Dufour, and Matthew Brian Dufour (Rachel); and seven grandchildren, Noah, Riley, Kaden, Benjamin, Jaxon, Claire and Annabelle.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 20304 N. DuPont Blvd., Georgetown on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 at 1 p.m. A time of visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to First Baptist Church, 20304 N. DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
