DOVER - Carol E. Murphy of Dover, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Pinnacle Nursing Home, Smyrna. She was 74. Mrs. Murphy was born March 13, 1941 in Troy, New York to the late Quinton Potter and Hazel Gardner Potter. She worked for Caeser Rodney School District as a bus driver, but was primarily a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur and Albert Potter. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Murphy, Sr. of Dover; sons, Charles Murphy, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Smyrna, Albert Murphy of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Margaret McMillan and her husband Rick of Rocky Point, N.C.; brothers, Walter Potter, Chuck Potter, John Potter all of Goldsboro, Md. and Richard Potter of, Neb.; grandchildren, Amber Murphy, Brian Beish, Shanon Knight and her husband Dave and Reba Murphy; great grandchildren, Nicholas D. Lawrie and Isabella R. Knight. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
