Carl Dickerson, 76

LEWES - Carl Dickerson, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. He was 76. He was the son of late Charles Dickerson and Jennie Dickerson. His son Karl "Butch" Dickerson preceded him in death. Mr. Dickerson served in the Army during the Korean War and worked at Blue Hen Spring Works in Milford for years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lewes and Milton. He is survived by his wife, Irene Short Dickerson; one daughter, Bonnie Chasanov; three grandchildren, William M. Chasanov II, Matthew A. Chasanov, and Shae Chasanov Diluzio; and two great-grandchildren, Drew and Elizabeth Chasanov. Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
